Title: Best new turkey vest
Post by: countryboy478 on April 10, 2017, 01:46:57 PM
I'm looking to get me a new turkey vest and wanting to know what everyone thinks of theirs. What kind is it and how good is it?  I do a lot of running and gunning and need a comfy vest to wear.

i'd recommend taking a look at the Ol Tom vestless turkey shirt and technical turkey pants. holds all the calls i need for a morning, great spine pad, even has magnets on the back my seat cushion can attach to (though i rarely take it with me). its great for running and gunning as to not have a bulky vest flopping around. highly recommend it. going vestless this year has been awesome

Last 5 seasons I have been using a cabela's tac tat'r II and its been a great vest, very tough & comfortable, has plenty of adjustment & a decent amount of pockets for calls & what'not....I do wish it had one more pot call pocket but other than that I've been very pleased with it. I believe cabelas has it on sale right now.

I have used a Super Elite 3 for 5 years and made the switch this year to the Primos Rocker Vest.
I have only used it a few times, but so far I really like it.  It has all the features that I wanted in a vest and it eliminates the need for a tree.

It also works very well with a Gobbler Lounger type seat...

This subject constantly comes up. Imo there is none. Couple of the populars are way too thin material wise. If they aren't too thin they're hot on warm days. Pockets too small, etc.
somebody ought to invent a good one.
I am currently using a tenzing, built well but I could certainly improve on it

Tat'r = best seat but hot on warm days

Ol Tom I-beam = not as comfortable but still good and very light and cool. In SE Georgia I opted for the I-beam but neither are bad.
