guess i am old fashion in that i have a 1187 with 26in barrel, just to throw it out there,
what constrictions on chokes are workn best for you guys, lookn at a dead 30yd gun, thanks russ
What are you shooting for shells ? at 30yds you can get a decent lead load to work just fine. I got real good patterns with the Remington lead only super full, trulock, Carlson's 570-575. that was out of a 26: barrel. If you decide to go with HTL loads those chokes will work really good with those also.
i shoot both the 2 3/4 and 3 in lead loads, with a IC .555, i have just heard the longer barrels like
the more open chokes, so thats why i am askn? i have a gobblin thunder .560, but i havent tried
it yet, thanks russ
Got the same gun / barrel length . Try a Carlson's .575 non ported with Federal HW 7 . Should put you where you want to be . I average about 175 hits in a 10" circle at a lased 35 yards.
I have a wood stock 1187 20, Carlson 575 nonported. Patterns great with hevi 6 and fed hwt 7 as well as long beard 6s!
. l have the carlsons nonported .575 shot alittle of everything hunt with fed #7,s killed 2 this year 28, 42 yds 45 yds is as far as would try one not a fan of long shot i think 12 ga 870 retired

I have a 1187 with a 26" shoot nitro hevishot through a Indian Creek patters great. Will be switching to Nitro TSS and sumtoy this season though
The 1187 is a good gun but can be finicky when it comes to the choke. Most like the 562 our choke (555-560 others). Now seen a few you would been better with a box of rocks and sling shot. We bump them up and they show out then. I seen one few weeks ago that shot the factory Mod choke. Now it did get better but it all what you look for. That gun like the Mag Blends best. :anim_25:
