I know everyone swears by them in the 20ga

I imagine they would do well in 12ga as well

Let us know how they do.

Not sure what a Winchester long bead shotgun is? But I shot the 3.5 Heviewight 7's out of my Winchester Super X-2 and my Remington 11-87 with devastating results.

I picked up a box the other day.  Waiting for the wind to die down to see if my 870 likes em. Will post results in the Remington pattern thread soon.

Meh...

Patterns look like a shell that has only about 400 pellets in it...

Not supposed to use wad stripping chokes, but I know guys that do...

I'm sure I'll eventually  a a choke for the HW's, but the Trulock HW choke puts up thins numbers for me so far...

H-13 6's smoke the HW7's in my guns...

Really?I had smoken results from my s.m.1187 with the Trulock HW choke for 7's??
Until I started loading a few years ago i would never shoot anything factory unless it was HW 7!!
Check back through my post for results on the 10,12,and 20!

Best pattern Ive ever seen out a heavyweight 12ga was a buddy he bought a undertaker high density from clearance bin. I think was a .665-670 out of an original SBE. I helped him count was 210 in a 10in circle at 40yds. This was 3.5in federal #7 I was shocked even solid pattern.

Have had good results with a 21" 870 with Carlson chokes.640
Also with a Hevi-choke.662 , that one some recommended not using due to the ports . So I stayed with the non ported Carlson.  640 did quite a bit better than the .660 . The.650 would be nice to try.
I believe that choking them tightly will defeat the flight control wad.

I've killed several with that shell.  Be sure to use an approved choke.  Rob Roberts or Trulock are great.
