Went for a walk this morning with my oldest and found this carcass(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170402/8ce9d09bd88485ce070f28c2df3596cf.jpg)
After swearing at all coyotes we found something I'd never seen before.

Terrible way to go. Poor bugger

Too bad but nature's way.
I know it's possible but I don't see how a turkey could've gotten in that situation by himself. Do you think it may have been poached and hung up in the fence to breast it out? Looks like he'd been doing some strutting too. Either way, not a good thing to find.
Don't think so. The ground was bare of leaves where he'd struggled to get loose. He'd definitely been strutting. Hope there's one to take his place come April 25th

What's with the boot lace looking deal to the left side of the pic?
Sure doesn't look right...

It looks like a part of the fence.

That's all I see. Page wire fence

We found a freshly dead longbeard about 10 years ago that stepped into a roll of woven wire fence laying in the grass where fence was being built. I still carry a wingbone call I made from it.
