Last season was a tough one for me. At the start of the season In one of my spots,I found a small dead hen with no head. From the get, I immediately assumed it was an owl. On opening day morning I heard a few owls sounding in different directions. As the season progressed, the birds became less vocal on there roost and it happend fast. Has anyone had any experience with this in there turkey hunting careers, with owls harassing and killing off turkey? ???? There here again!
Thanks

I have heard of it and our state agency speaks of "owls" as a predator but not to the point of impacting flock numbers. Would seem to be a pretty isolated deal around here, guess I would say coyote have the biggest affect on our local birds, not talking nesting and weather but as a predator on adult birds.

Bared owls aren't to bad that I know if. But a Great Horned is a bad critter quite capable a taking turkeys off the limb.
