For any of you that happen to use a Fastfire sight, are you using the 3 MOA dot, or the 8 MOA? Although it will probably be after this season before I get around to doing so, I am seriously considering a Fastfire. I have two old red dots on two different shotguns. One is, I think, a 1 MOA, and the other, I think, is a 3 MOA. I much prefer the larger dot, but wonder if the 8 MOA would be too much of a good thing for turkey hunting? Thanks.
I have the 3. For me, and 8 is just too big.
I myself, along with the majority of the people I know, run the 3 MOA.
3 MOA here as well.
I run the 8. To me the smaller 3 would be good for applications such as rifle accuracy but for scattergun purposes where I'm not going for pinpoint accuracy just center of pattern. Put the dot on turkey's next and squeeze the trigger.
I have the 8 and really like it.
3 for me. stayed away from the 8 cause it covers to much of the turk for my liking
I just picked up a vortex venom 3 moa and I think it'll be perfect. They also have a viper which is 6 moa might be worth checking out.
3 for me. The 8 was bigger then I liked personally.

I have run both.

3MOA for sure with a turkey sized target,,,,PLUS in early light conditions the 8 will tend to glare more...
my reddots are 3moa and 4 large enough to easily see and find but small enough to be precise.
I prefer the 8moa. The size of the dot can also be used as a semi range finder in relation to the size of a Gobblers head at 40 yds. http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,19175.15.html. Lee
I just got the 3moa last week. Glad I did.. I would think the 8moa would be way too large for me.
Mine is the 3MOA. I haven't tried one with the 8MOA, but I probably wouldn't notice, anyway.
I chose the 8, I have never shot a 3 MOA, but have found zero issues with the 8 MOA. I'd like to see the size difference in the field of a 3 vs 8. I haven't had any problems killing birds with the 8
I bought the 3moa for my gun and my girlfriend's gun. The 8 took up too much of the field of view for me. I absolutely love the Fastfire 3.
I'm a Burris fan but there fastfire flat out stinks. Try something else
Happy with the 3. Never seen the 8 though.
3 moa here as well. Although I've only been patterning my gun with it so far, I love it.
Shot an 8 for three seasons. Switched to a 3 this season and like it better.

Got both myself.
I prefer the 8 to the 3.
Much quicker for me to acquire the target...

False.
3 MOA here.
I have used both but all my T-Guns wear the 8 MOA now...perfect for my 46 year old eyes. For me...8 MOA all day! :z-winnersmiley:
3 for me
I have the three. Couldn't be easier to locate the dot and plenty of size and contrast. The major advantage for me is it's more precise than the eight. This comes in handy when you're patterning your gun and trying to adjust the point of aim and point of impact. Less margin for error since you're only covering 3" at 100 yds. as opposed to covering 8". That converts to 1 1/2" at 50 yds. and 3/4" at 25 yds.with the 3". The 8" will cover 4" at 50 yds. and 2" at 25 yds.
I'm sure you could get used to either one but I think the advantage goes to the 3" because of precision.
Whichever you get, you'll be getting a solid, quality sight that performs in the field...
