As many of you know these things seem to be non existent. I called macks Prairie wings today which was supposed to have them today. The lady said they received 5 boxes from them and that's all they were going to receive, she stated all backorders were going to be refunded. What an absolute joke, Winchester should be ashamed of themselves. You do all this advertising and even have specialty chokes made and no one can even get hands on these things.
I finally said screw it today and bought 4 boxes of heavy weight #7 from bass pro. Sorry winchester I was willing to give you a shot but this whole thing leaves me sour.
Ps free shipping on orders of $75.00 for you boys looking for fhw.
well you ended up making the right choice. Have a hard time believing any lead #6 can compete with HW
You came out way better than you would have with them things

I never did understand the demand for them. I guess people thought that the resin would turn a 1.25 oz lead 6 load into a 50 yd gobbler smasher ?
Gods of Thunder
You will like the HW, a lot better...you made the right choose...
HW7 will be a lot better than lead 6's at 1000 fps and resin that may or may not break etc. They did you a favor!
I agree with everyone else on the HW 7's. However, if you're still wanting to give them a go, it looks like Midway has them in stock.

Now they are unavailable through Midway.
I'm guessing they are having some sort of problem with the round. Youre better off with the HW 7s though. Longbeards wont ever be able to out perform them.

the heavyweights have the flight control wad as well don't they?
Blessing in disguise there
As all have said already, you are much better off with the HW 7's anyway unless you can load up TSS 9's. I just bought some 7's from BASSPRO last week, on sale plus rebate and free shipping if over $25.

I too was disappointed that I could never find any 20ga LBXR. Hunting with my 20 for the first time this year and wanted to try that since the 12 did so well. Luckily I got some heavyweight 7's from buds guns and midway and also some hevi-13 6 and magblends to try. All do well out to the 40 I patterned. The double X 5's I tried were pretty sorry that far out. Really happy with the HTL loads except for the price lol.

It's because of crappy advertisements like this, 50 yards? their claiming 60 plus here?

Hw#7 is the king of factory 20 ga loads.
I too am waiting on the 20 Longbeard XR ammo to try....Guess it will not happen this spring. With that being said Winchester really screwed up not getting them in production for this spring,,,,
I have noticed a lot of Old Gobber readers slamming the Longbeard ammo. I have shot every commercial shot shell on the market for over 30 years and for the money Longbeard out preforms them all......
Sons Remington 870, 3.5 with no 5 Longbeard consistently put 250 plus pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards Wednesday this week...This is with the factory Rem choke!!
My M1 with 3inch No 6 LBs is putting 200 plus in the 10 inch circle!!
Now compare them to Hevi Shot and there is a $25.00 difference in price...
You can only kill a turkey so dead!!
Hope you guys wack and stack them this spring,,,I have hunting Pa,WV,MO,AR....20 days on the road!!

Actually, if you read the Midway description, it says "Unavailable-Seasonal Run". You can't add them to your cart. Just sayin...

You are spending all that money to travel around and hunt and the most important item in the moment of truth is where you are concerned about cost? Shells are the item I care less about cost cause you only get so many chances and it is the difference in the time of truth. I like to be ready for the worst conditions and not the best.

Yeah, check out the 4:05 mark of the video.... "Bonafide 70 - 75 yards but would wanna try 80" Really? with 20 hits total on the paper. I see a lot of screw ups in their future.
I would have a tough time doing that song and dance for a sponsor. I would sing their praises, but I couldn't basically lie for them.

The Druery brothers don't seem to have this problem......
Did y'all see growing deer TV have the 20g load on their YouTube out of the Winchester SX3? Patterned pretty amazing for a lead load. Saw Cuz Strickland have a sweet 35yd pattern yesterday out of his 20g 870, too. Sportsmans warehouse had some in stock earlier today, but I'm good for the season already with the Heavyweight load so didn't get any.
