This is a Sapele lid with a Curly Maple inlay over a Red Cedar box set on a matching Sapele base. This was a late order, but I was able to fit her in just in time for the upcoming Indiana season. It seems no matter when I put Sapele over something it comes out well and this is a great example...perhaps one of the best sounding combinations I build. The Sapele came out of no where when about 6 weeks while visiting a friends cabinet shop I notice several cut off pieces, just perfect for lids--well, the rest is history and Sapele will forever be an integral component of my call making.
