Title: Sand improving your hunting area..
Post by: Greg Massey on March 05, 2017, 01:54:27 PM
Back few weeks ago i was watching Primos video and they were talking how they had bought this farm and one of the ways they were helping the turkeys was dumping loads of sand. I know this has a lot to do with ground and soil condition. Do you think it matters if it's white sand or red sand ?   Has anyone seen this done to improve the turkey hunting ?  I'm sure this has something to do with grit in the sand...Is sand a reason turkeys like hanging around those creek bottoms for grit and bugs....food source ...

I have not seen that episode but guessing it was in the ms river bottom. Very few small rocks for them to peck and use as a grinder in their gizzard. I'm guessing the sand is used in the same manner.
