Title: 870 Trigger
Post by: Footballer on March 05, 2017, 11:05:52 AM
Just shot my youth 20 ga 870 and the trigger is brutal. There's a TON of creep. Any recommendations?

Several aftermarket trigger Springs for it that will help a ton. Or you can buy a timney trigger. I went with Springs.  Creep is gone. Trigger went from 8 lbs. To 3.5 lbs. Do not cut any of the springs for a quick fix. Springs are less than $20.

I ordered a lighter spring for my 870 but I didn't feel like it reduced the pull weight by much and most of all, it didn't take out the creep. I recently put the timney sear and lighter spring in my 870 and it made a big difference. The timney did not take out all of the creep but it is a lot better. I try and justify spending the money because I can use the medium weight spring in another 870 of mine. All in all, I would buy the timney again.

When I had my son's drilled and tapped I had the gunsmith rework his trigger and it's night and day better than stock.
