I just purchased a Remington Turkey barrel for my son's youth 870. It has rifle sights and is 21" long. Yes, it's the same length as the factory barrel that came with it but I didn't like taking his sights off every dove and quail season. I saw a lot of conflicting descriptions of the barrel before I finally got a definitive answer as to what the barrel was like. His came with a Remington Turkey choke also.
Just wanted to pass this along. I saw the barrel mentioned nowhere in Turkey forums. The sights seem nice and are adjustable for windage and elevation. The Remington part number for this barrel is 80062.
Descriptions range from fixed modified and fixed IC to RemChoke. Some even described it as a rifled barrel.
Makes the 870 a bit more versatile.
What was the cost of the barrel ?
It ranged from 175 to 205. It is noticeably lighter than the vent rib barrel. Several sellers have it available. Just google the barrel with the part number.

For a few more dollars you could of bought another youth 870....last year i paid 235.00 dollars for mine...just saying....
Thanks for pointing that out..... I wasn't looking for another 870.... I'm aware of the cost of a new 870 youth as I bought the one he has. I was looking for a turkey barrel for my sons.
I explained in the original post that I didn't like removing the sights from the vent rib every year so he could use it for other things. I've seen all kinds of things on this site with tricked out guns and thought folks would like to know it's out there.

I bought it from a seller on eBay but saw it on several including GunBroker, Midwest Gun, and a few others.
