Leaving for Kansas in April, Never hunt there before, whats the Turkey Hunting like Great? It on Private Ground....1300 acers.
Hoot
Depends where you are going I guess but Kansas is loaded with birds I hunt there every spring!!!
We are going to be in the El Dorado, KS area?
What parts I've seen have been slap covered up!
This will be our 8th year going out. We always are there for the opener in April. I have never not limited out. Lots of birds out there.
I'm also there opening weekend. Looking forward to it.
Birds in Kansas are suicidal. Their just begging to be killed.
If I could pick only 1 State to turkey hunt in for the rest of my life, it would be Kansas! This will be my 6th year in a row to make the trip - I can't wait!!! :z-guntootsmiley:

Hunted Kansas once I was sitting for 10-15 min had two gobblers come in and I was done! We where suppose to be there for 3 days 4 of us filled up in one evening and one morning hunt. Loads of birds!!
Are tags over the counter??
The obvious question is..... Which one of you Kansas experts wants to toss an invite my way? :hello99:
So, where we all meeting for breakfast :TooFunny:
:groupwave:I will be there the first of May .
Don't believe the reports. They're all lies. There are very few turkeys in Kansas and you should all save your time and money and stay away. :goofball:
Yea, tags are over the counter. 2 bird limit. Would like to see them go to 3

the tags are sold over the counter unless you want to hunt in zone 4
I'll be there for the opener. Hope the weather and birds cooperate. We're heading to north central KS. First time to ever hunt the state. :fire:
do yall think april 13 the first weekend of gun in kansas is to early to travel up there? do u think the birds will work that early in the season?
We usually try to be there on the first Monday after it opens (18th this year). It's usually good then - real good. :z-guntootsmiley:
It all depends on what part of the state you are going to. Some parts there aren't as many because of several years of a very wet spring/early summer, other parts of the state the birds are doing great!!!
im gonna be hunting some private land in pratt county st. john kansas i think it is. do u think it will be good there? i appreciate all ur help

Are you hunting with a guide based out of st. john?
April 28-May 1 for me in the flint hills. :anim_65:
I have only been once....by myself and it was a unsuccessfull...maybe I'll do better this year out there...I hunted out around Wilson hunting WIHA...and only was able to call up a couple of jakes and passed on them...no longbeards on that trip...but it was pretty much a learning experience for the most part...
I just hope they gobble some in north-central KS on the opener cause I'll be there that morning!
Will be hunting with Irishcreek on the 17th and 18th can't wait. This is in the Haven area...anyone know what the bird numbers are like in that area?
jayhawkeye im gonna be hunting a farmers land some what like 10,000 acres. im jacked up about it! just hope im not going to early in the season? why do u ask?
Birds are still grouped up where I am at. Today we had rain mixed with snow and sleet. Next week is suppose to be nicer. Hope that will help break the birds up.
