I've used a palmers for a few years now but I've been hearin a lot about the hooks harrison hoot n stick. So which sounds better in yalls opinion? Is the harrisons really that good?
In my personal opinion....YES the Hooks/Harrison hooter is unbeatable. I went through a TON of owl hooters before the Harrison and this will be my third season using it. I very much doubt you'll be disapointed with it.
I had a Palmer Hoot tube, got rid of it once I got my Harrison Hooter!! :you_rock:

I use the synthetic.....but the wood ones are VERY nice. You can't go wrong either way.

There are three versions synthetic, osage and a custom one by James.. They all sound really really close to the same and for hunting purposes there is no discernible difference..
The maple Palmers is a great call I have not tried the Harrison but if it comes from Hooks you can guarantee it will be a good one!!!
No contest, the Harrison Hoot N Stick is a MUCH better sounding call. God bless.
I got mine directly from James Harrison. It's made from Cocobola.

I have a Palmer's and I have a Hoot n Stick in Maple and cocobolo. Since I bought my Hoot n Sticks I have not put a breathe of air through the Palmer's. Hoot n Stick the best hands down don't waste your time or money anywhere else!!!!

Hooks is in booth 224 I believe.
I have both Palmer's and have heard the Harrison. My vote is for the Harrison HANDS DOWN!!!
I own both. I can get more volume from the Palmers and it has acceptable tone. The Harrison sounds more authentic though hand down.

You're right. The Palmer's is more than acceptable indeed but as far a realism is concerned the Harrison is ahead of the game.
Almost every Owl Hooting contest I attend, the Hoot n Stick is in the hands of the top three finishers. That says it all!
hoot-n-stick no doubt
OK where can I get the Harrison?

Was in the market for a new hooter & this thread answered my questions
i went from palmers to harrison and im glad i did
I read over the comments and could have missed the answer to my question. What does the Harrison have that the Palmers doesn't. I have a Palmers and like it out of what I have heard so far, but I haven't heard a Harrison yet. I have been considering getting one.
I like the palmers. I've never heard how a harrisons sounds

Realism. God bless.
I would vote for the Harrison Hoot'n Stick. They has made a change in there barrel design since I got mine. It is suppose be even louder and better. They have three different models to choose from too. I went from the HS Strut Palmer Hooter to the Hook's Hootin Stick and never looked back. Get a Harrison and you will be happy.
I don't know how you guys can say the Harrison Hootin tube is better. Yeah the tone is good but is has no volume to it. I bought one for me and my buddy this past Xmas and I was completely disappointed. I'm sticking with my Palmer's hoot tube on stage and in the spring woods. Idk, I got the cheaper model, maybe the more expensive ones are louder? I already wasted $30 and don't want to find out.
I should have a Hoot n Stick Monday, so I will have to give the two a try and see which one is better. I will let you know my answer.

The Hoot n Stick, hands down, it sounds a whole lot better than the palmers.

Hoot n stick :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
i have used the palmers, the acrylic hoot n stick, and the hoot n stick signed by James and without a doubt the best call is the harrison custom hoot n stick. worth the extra $20
where can you purchase this harrison hoot tube and how much

I thought the same thing. I have the Osage one and has very little volume. The one Harrison runs on his video seems louder, but hard to say where the Mike was. I don't know if there is a problem with mine or others are just locating gobblers from under their tree?
Take it out in the field and blow it. Plenty of volume. But if you don't want it let me know
No comparison! Harrison Hoot'n Stick
Ok so how do you get in touch with James to get a different style wood?
