Title: Trying to build blind on golf cart for (handicap) Grandfather
Post by: littlebull on February 24, 2017, 06:55:05 PM
My grandfather is 85 yrs young haha but can't walk hardly at all. He loves turkey hunting but for obvious reasons can't get after em like we used to. He bought a camo off-road golf cart to have out at our camp to ride around and what not. Me and dad were thinking about how we could build a blind or some kind of netting around the buggy so we could get him set up on a bird this year. Has anyone done/seen this on golf-carts? Just looking for any advice/ideas on how to efficiently hide the buggy so as we can try and get him a bird this spring.

Can't you get one of those enclosed vinyl cab's for the golf cart and paint and modify it with couple windows and camo netting.. turkeys want pay that much attention to the cart, just like a blind..maybe fix a brush blind for him to pull into like with hay bales or whatever...you will have to use your imagination.

I would think some camo burlap and zip ties might get it done. Oh and duct tape. Always duct tape.

We tried burlap and it seemed like it wouldn't work very well. We were able to see through it. I hadn't  thought about vinyl cabs for it but i will look around. Thanks

surplus vegetation netting would be what I would use. back it in between a coupe of trees. If you can get it in the shadows and have the sun in the gobblers eyes, you may not even need the camo.

Drive him to the spot, get him in a chair, and set a pop up blind over him.

You might check out some enclosed popup blinds and find one that will fit over it. They make some high enough to stand up in just not sure the width or length would be enough. Never hurt to look up the dimensions.

How about trying the military type camo that you could throw it over after you get there or tie it to the cab it is tougher than the burlap. Make some panels out of 3/8 plywood, camo with paint and mount a on hinges so you could let up and down.

How about one of those blind coverings for a 2 man ladder stand. Might be able to adapt it to go around the cart somehow. Good luck and hope he bags a big one.

Just did a quick search on google.
Some info for ATV. Maybe can be adapted to your needs.
