Title: Weatherby sa08 with 26" barrel ?
Post by: owlhoot on February 19, 2017, 12:52:39 PM
Just bought the standard synthetic stock 26" barrel 20 gauge.
Going to be used for doves and quail so will probably stay stock.
Surprised it has a stock shim kit.
That being said it will have to have a turkey choke stuck in the barrel and some hw7 and whatever else I got for turkey loads laying around.
So some recommendations for this gun would be appreciated!

My son's SA-08 wears an Indian. Most anything I've fed it shoots well.  Loves Mag Blends!

I have same set up with a sumtoy 562-5. It averages about 160 with fed 7s. I've had some as high as 185 and some as low as 150.

It likes federal heavyweight 6s out of a pure gold tempest 570......puts up 120 patterns with 6s.

Same  sumtoy choke with TSS #9 is about 280 in ten

It did not like pure gold 555 tempest, 555 Swarm, regular 570 pure gold, Indian creek( which is odd) , 550 ssx, or sumtoy 575. These chokes all produced patterns with federal 7s from about 75 to 110.
