Title: Just my luck!
Post by: StrutStopper_71 on February 13, 2017, 08:05:57 PM
Going through some calls just doing a little pregame check, and knocked my Gibson crow call off the gun safe. Wouldn't you know it it hits just right and breaks ugh!

I love that call, best crow call I've ever owned. Is there any thing I can do, or am I just out of a call and need to order a new one?

I haven't experienced same issue on a call before but repaired plastics/composites in past when needed too. Best method is a lot of work and I would just call up the maker and see if they sell inserts as the barrel looks good.

If you want to repair that broken tab right, IMO, it would take drill press to punch a hole or two through both pieces (alignment being critical) and then sleeve it with some stiff wire or metal rod... then epoxy and clamp in place to cure.... then sanding till it's clean. Again, a lot of work but maybe worth it if you're handy or this has sentimental value.

Call Darrell and he'll send you a new mouth piece. When I purchased calls from him that's what he told me to do if that ever happened.

You might want to talk to him about the new calls he has put out, the Stubby or the Fatboy Jr.  U won't be disappointed with either.

You may want to try his open reed owl hooter too!  If you can use a predator call, you will like it.
