Title: Tenth Legion
Post by: spoonbill on February 04, 2017, 09:21:03 AM
I know a lot of ya'll have read the book as have I.  I recently listened to the audio version of it narrated by Mr. Tom Kelly and highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the book.  I think having Mr. Kelly read anything would be entertaining.

I agree, listening to him is a treat.  When I do read his books it's his voice I now hear inside my head!

I read a lot everything I can find on Turkeys but after Mr. Kellys first book I bought all his books in audio. I find all the story's about logging the old growth pine forests most interesting because the places I hunt in La have the same logging history of Alabama. And the audio books is like having Tom telling you the story in person.

Same here man always love to hear stories like that.  I am also from Louisiana.  I grew up hunting along the Atchafalaya river and in the basin in mostly hardwoods.  Never saw many pines until I started hunting farther north.  Made me fascinated with all the logging history of the area.  Crazy how two areas can be so different within driving distance.

:camohat:  Just before every Spring I read "Tenth Legion", and "Turkey Hunting a One Man Game" every year. "I don't hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt turkeys because I have to." I'm going to have to check out the audio book.
