This was the barrel that I polished using kroil / bore bright and scotch bright pad

This is with my neighbors 20+ yr old "rattle can camo" barrel that he gave me because his 835 was stollen with the slug barrel on it

Similar numbers but seems like the barrel I polished has a lot of holes.

Some guns like a barrel to be somewhat dirty.  Maybe try gun 1 with a couple of fouling shots fired first.
If that doesn't work, shoot whatever throws the second pattern!

I would like to see a turkey head target so i could see which way the gun is shooting ... i can't tell from these 2 targets what you were aiming at for center..

Second pattern is the best in my opinion.

The block of tape was center. Both shot left. 1 shot like 12" left of poa. Either way I'll have to adjust poi

#1 I "polished" last season and hunted with. It's had 50 rounds low brass and 25 turkey rounds through it to try to dirty it which has brought it I was back  somewhat but I'm upset because my pattern before polishing was 250 in the 10" then I decided to try to even the pattern out by polishing and it went down hill.

Okay, i see  yes you have some work to do with the gun still....it look to me it was more left of the circle...good luck with it..i don't care for all that barrel polishing myself...

Man I was pretty bitter after I did it. "It will improve your pattern" they say....followed it to a tee and ruined a great barrel. Should have heeded clarks warning and stuck with deep cleaning only. Nothing but regret.

That barrel polishing is an odd thing....
Like the OP, I followed the deep cleaning directions to a tee. The factory barrel on my 835 looked like a dog. I deep cleaned it per Clarks directions and took it out to the range. Wearing an original SD .676 and shooting 3.5" Hevi 7's I got an average of 320 in the ten, a nice dense, even pattern. Polish the barrel they say....
I followed the barrel polishing directions to a tee. Cleaned her up, went back out to the range and promptly shot a 320. Not one difference in the pattern, same density, same even coverage. It is easier to clean now !

So far I've seen guns that it hurt the performance, I've seen guns that it evened up the pattern but didn't gain numbers, I've seen guns that gained tremendously in both pattern spread/density and sheer number count. Some do nothing. It really is a crap shoot.
Polishing really helped my 20 gauge 870. The barrel on it was a sure enuff' dog and polishing made a big difference.
