Just curious what everyone's favorite hobby is? I'm guessing the majority will say Spring Turkey hunting, as it has slowly taken over my number 1 hobby of bow hunting deer. I even got two nice bucks this year, one in PA and Ohio, but anymore I look forward to Spring Turkey hunting more, where years ago, nothing held a candle to my bow hunting.
We all have different interests fishing, golf, hunting etc. what's your #1 interest as in hobbies? And if it is Turkey hunting, did you have a favorite interest, that was eventually taken over by it? thanks
Turkey hunting is not just a hobby... it's a lifestyle!!
I live, eat & breathe turkey, it's my second language.

My hobbies have always been the outdoors with fishing and hunting. I like gardening also....
My kids and I hunt squirrel with pellet rifles. What a blast
Cutt.....for me first and foremost in my life is My Lord and savior then my family (wife and 3 little boys). After that and with Gods grace and will I get to enjoy my hobbies and passions. With out a doubt I'm 110% hooked, eat up, addicted, head over heals, live and breath it (I could go on ;)) for turkey hunting with grouse hunting with my setters right on its hills. I love everything about it buddy! Just thinking of standing on a ridge top on a clear spring morning hearing and seeing the woods come to life with the thunder of a gobble gives me chills!! Ive always liked fishing...for years all I did was fish the rivers with my dad. Then in 2005 my dad got a bass boat and we started hitting the lakes some then after he passed last year and my mom gave me his boat and I've been trying to learn more about lake fishing and have really enjoyed it. Lord willing I'm going to hit the lakes around my neck of the woods several times pre spring gobbler season for small mouths....plus I'll get to listen to some early gobbling before season while sitting on the lake.....that's a win win! God bless
I know it's sounds cliche, but it wouldn't do justice to call hunting a hobby. It's not just something I do. It's dang near the level of breathing and we all know it's above eating and sleeping.
If I had to give a hobby I'd say archery. I shoot bows to hunt not stick foam or paper for sport, but I also really enjoy tuning and maintaining my bow along with a lot of my buddies. I do everything except build my own strings, and I'll probably get into that down the road.

3-D archery is my hobby
I love tuning and setting up bows, building arrows and shooting. The mental side to a high level of shooting clears my head and makes the grind of life go away for a while....
turkey hunting is not a hobby, its a sport... my favorite hobby is beekeeping... my favorite sport is turkey hunting, and like any self respecting American, I like sports better than hobbies.
Woodworking for a hobby. Hunting and fishing are a passion!
Spring turkey hunting and fall bow hunting for deer are my favorite two passions in the outdoors!!! Hobby wise, I combined two passions, woodworking and turkey hunting, to make very unique displays that show off your prized collection of beards, spurs, and fans. :gobble:
I would say my favorite hobby is collecting turkey calls and my favorite sport is spring turkey hunting.
My two favorite outdoor pursuits are turkey hunting, both spring and fall and fly fishing for trout. I sometimes do both on the same day in May. I also enjoy tying my own flies and handmade leaders.
Turkey hunting and duck hunting are tied, and as previously mentioned, could not be considered hobbys, as they are truly lifestyles. I thank god that the seasons do not overlap. My hobbies are reloading, tinkering/grouping/patterning guns and rifles and fletching arrows and wood working.

Duck hunting, camping, hiking, golf, and travel.
Of course those are the things other than turkey hunting
Inventing turkey hunting tools and practicing to be a rodeo clown. I get bored easy.
Turkey Hunting, shooting, just getting into crossbows and the outdoors.
Other hunting in general....I like making turkey calls and small carpentry jobs....but don't tell The Boss Hen on the latter hobby cause it may affect the former...
Making turkey calls let it get more than a hobby for a while but I have taken care of that :camohat:
Aside from turkey hunting, I deer hunt some, I fish from my kayak, I also do flint knapping (make stone arrowheads & spear points). My wife and I take a couple of scuba diving trips each year.

I have really gotten into metallic cartridge reloading over the past few years. It's an exacting past time that is very rewarding if you are patient. And i got a chrono for Christmas! I also like to get on the little rivers and creeks canoeing and fishing for smallmouth, spots, anything that bites....... I enjoy most any fishing.
Other than that and obviously turkeying, I really enjoy deer hunting and took a very nice buck with crossbow this fall off land I had timbered and worked hard to make into a little honey hole with some help from family and friends. That's alot of fun too, working in the outdoors to make some improvements.
Aside from turkey and deer hunting, I like filming my hunts and running my YouTube channel, also like vegetable gardening, building and flying RC planes, and whatever else might catch my interest

Spring turkey hunting is my prime hobby...the rest of the year chasing big slab crappie and giant bass.

Family first, turkey hunting second and bowhunting 3rd.

Whether it's considered a sport or hobby, turkey hunting. I recently got into elk hunting with my bow, if I ever experience more success, a bull will give a gobbler a run for his money! I have only had one bugle really close, it's louder than a gobble! It just seems like a lot of days of silence and hard work to have an encounter with a bull. I enjoy bowhunting deer as well but it's nothing like calling in a gobbler. I always thought elk would be kind of like combining the two and perhaps it is for guys who are good at both.

It is a lifestyle But though turks have a special place that same life style applies to all the outdoor pursuits
Arkansas flooded timber mallard hunting is first and foremost, but our pitiful 16 day turkey season is easily my second favorite
I love hunting deer turkey and small game also like fishing with my 5 yr old son. But those things are above hobby status ha ha. As for a hobby I love scouting for deer and turkey as a public land hunter I'm always searching for the next public land hot spot whether researching on the web, looking at maps or burning boot leather if there's anything I like better than hunting its probably scouting. Nothing is better than burning boot leather in a new area looking for rubs, scrapes and turkey scratchins I could keep going but I better stop guess I'm weird haha
Are crazy chicks considered a hobby?

Turkey hunting
Pokémon go
So after Turkey Season is over and I roll in to the next obsession...I am into Bowfishing & Bow Hunting, and when time allows I'll hunt predators, goose, duck, pheasant, grouse, squirrel, rabbit and do some pan fishing, bass and trout. In the meantime grow a garden, take care of a raspberry patch. When winter hits I mount turkey tails, spurs and beards. Do a bunch of hiking and biking in the summer.
and then it starts all over

I don't think a single day goes by in a year that I don't think about turkey season and look forward to my next trip out. I think that qualifies more in the lines of an addictive passion but it is what it is. I would say my hobby at this time is running my lathe building calls, which just makes me think of turkey hunting even more !!! My head is haunted with that perfect sounding hen that I just love trying to duplicate.
Working a new squirrel dog is a blast. Weather becomes a factor and my business keeps me hopping in the spring and summer. When time allows though, I enjoy getting out with the dog and watching the light turn on. Even if you don't like squirrel or squirrel hunting, it's hard to argue with the work of a good dog.
Guitar, golf, and ATV's are what I enjoy most outside of hunting.
Right now I'm eat up with my puppy. He's a 4 month old brindle mountain cur named Boomer and every chance we get we in the woods. He's my first squirrel dog so it's been a challenge but I've learned a lot from him in just the short time I've had him.
:boon:
Duck hunting first and foremost. Spring turkey and bow hunting is a close second and trapping. I also enjoy collecting duck and turkey calls along with old pocket knives. Sports is also a big part of my life esp. college football (Go Dawgs). I also enjoy fishing for crappie, bass and limb lining big flatheads and golf.
"Go Dawgs" is that a UGA reference. I'm a college football addict, Wooo Pig Sooie! I enjoy trapping as well but I'm not very good at it. I just try to keep the coyotes thinned down on my farm. It's a small farm so I don't run many traps.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, fine wine, candlelight dinners, and knitting sweaters for cats. Oops! Wrong website!
I play lead guitar at a big church and my amp is always at 11.... But seriously I play a Gibson Les Paul through a number of great amps and at 52 I can shred faster than when I was younger / don't let anyone tell you that you are to old to shred / prolly put some telecasters together from prices parts his year on the side
I have been highly involved in youth baseball and softball with my kids and now at the high school level. I take time out of the spring baseball season for my allotted 7 day turkey hunt here in WI. I like to Muskie fish and ice fish for bluegill and crappies. I like to deer hunt with both the compound now and antique Savage 1899/99 lever action rifles
PASSION
Turkey & deer hunting
HOBBY
Exotic birds/parrots.....
Answering the phone and hearing from another successful turkey hunter who has harvested a bird or birds with my box calls. I love to hear thier story and the excitement in thier voices.
A guy called to order calls for his nephews and said last spring he used my boxes to call in 10 longbeards for himself and family. 18 states reported Gobbler harvests with the calls last spring. I love my hobby and answer the phone eagerly. Unless I am working a bird. The first day of the season is crazy with pics coming in all morning. Often I need to shut it down until out of the woods that day.lol
I love it!
Turkey hunting is a lifestyle a passion! My Hobby used to be motorcycles and motorcycling, but since we bought our hunting property I spend most of my spare time working to improve it.
I am a turkey hunting FANATIC! Beyond that, I love to read, lift weights, and practice martial arts--will be 35 years in March. I do miss teaching the arts and might get back into that.
Basketball, coaching basketball, and elk hunting.

Well said. I like to crappie fish but it's not like hunting. I'm also trying my hand at woodworking but it's a slow immersion process it seems.
Mud Races for me.
Spartan
Rugged Manaic
Warrior Dash
Tough Mudder
I don't know if you call this a hobby or collection, but I love watches. Unfortunately I lost my dad's 1965 Accutron and the other watches in a recent fire but my great grandfather's 110 year old pocket watch survived. I know most people would think it's a waste of money, but to me timepieces have always held a spell over me.
Bird hunting is my passion... Duck hunting is my favorite, but I enjoy working the hills for valley quail.
I also enjoy shooting clays (sporting clays, 5-stand, and some skeet).
Fly fishing was a real passion for a bit, but with two little girls, most of my fishing these days involves worms and a bobber.
I really enjoy fooling birds which is probably why I enjoy turkey hunting and waterfowl hunting so much. I just get the giggles calling birds into good range.
