Sitting here in the tree stand, and 3 gobblers just hammering down this morning. 60 degrees, no wind and overcast. Really giving me the fever!

Love to hear them , but im afraid with the way they are fired up and the way the weather is that the season will be over before we even get started
man, that will get you fired up...
Deer? What deeer?
They always gobble hard some days in winter. They're not ready to start breeding/nesting. Where I live there's not the food or cover for poults.
Same thing happens w deer, sometime way too early someone sees a buck behind a doe n we question if the rut is started early.
Most times during turkey season the birds are "henned up", it's better when they aren't
When I was at a friend's farm yesterday his tame turkeys were strutting all over...That really got me pumped up for spring let alone hearing wild ones gobbling. Neat...
Yeah hoping they don't start to early myself

Sounds great! But I'm also hoping it's not a super early spring this year, we haven't even had winter yet. I saw poults hatched before the end of season one year, now that was an early spring.
I think the mild weather will be good for survival though. They moved our season back to may 1st for this year, and I heard it was because of hunters complaining birds were henned up. Going to miss having the opener in april!
I know 2 season ago in the south (Mississippi) I had my cameras on a food plot and had 2 strutters and 8 or 9 hens and I actually caught a gobbler breeding a hen. The real kicker is it was the first of February that was a bad season for me, not much gobbling had plenty of birds cause we had them on trail cams.

I buddy at my club in central MS. Saw some poults last weekend, I thought we had a late spring but that is way late, hopefully we had two breeding times last spring.
