Title: Looking for a new glass call.
Post by: wisconsinteacher on January 19, 2017, 12:34:41 PM
I'm in the market for a new glass call.  Thinking Hanks Walnut/Maple/Padauk or Hallorans Double Glass.  Any input would be great or if you have another call I should look at.

Thanks

I like the sugar town sweetness better if you go Halloran. Macs cherry glass is one to look at too

I would go Yingling. Mike makes an awesome call for sure. Just my $0.02.

Some good ones mentioned.  You may want to check out Dustin Jones calls too.

Brad Roberts Poplar bronzed glass over aluminum is the best meat pot I have ever heard to date. Called in 5 toms with it last season. Also Brad is a great guy to deal with too.
X2

Give Roger Parks a call and ask him to run his carbon glass call for you.

Hanks Glass over Aluminum in zebrawood pot and the MAC glass in cherry pot both sound very good.  Can't go wrong with any of Lonzo's calls either.

My fave glass that rides with me in the woods periodically are Kaiser's bronze glass, Halloran's double glass (a really under-rated call) and a Brad Roberts glass in crotch walnut pot...

I have a Halloran Crystal Mistress and a Lonnie Sneed Outlaw Hen. Both are proven turkey killers for me. If I was in the market for a new glass I'd be looking @ Brad Roberts, Lonzos, or another Halloran

Brad Roberts or Lon Trice. Both make great calls.Kevin Farr of Pecker wrecker calls also make some overlooked pots. He sells a production type pot to stores but he also makes some higher end custom pots for those who order them.

I'll second what Dr. Juice said. My money generally finds a way into Mike Yingling's pocket one way or another.

Pretty hard to beat Lonnie Sneed Outlaw Hen (green glass). Jimmy Schaffer glass over slate is a great call too. Scott Hock will make you a glass call that would be one of the best on the market...Lots of great makers out there...

I agree great call, when you consider the price, very reasonable. I also like my Halloran Metal Mouth, although pricey
