Title: Solo Eastern hen
Post by: Alan on January 09, 2017, 09:38:46 PM
While bow hunting in my woods in eastern Oklahoma (has lots of woods & a stream where I hunt) while in a groundblind a hen walked past me and she kept walking slowly away.

I was expecting her to be in a flock but I never saw another bird the rest of the morning.  Isn't this unusual for her to be alone this time of year?

They get busted up often enough. She may know the roosting area and will head there on her own. Doesn't happen often but it certainly does happen.
