I need to replace a synthetic stock on an older Remington Special Purpose 870. I've found an 1187 synthetic stock online that has the same finish. Are they interchangeable??
I can't say 100% that they are the same, but I have changed out and swapped a few and for me no issues. Should be interchangeable.
Everywhere I see them they ether say 870 or 1100 and 11-87 wish I knew for sure as I found one that says 870 in Mossy Oak break up like my older 11-87 but all the ones like the one I want that say 11-87 are Realtree APG if the 870 rear stock would fit mine I would not care if the fore stock worked I would just keep mine on it but at least the rear would match my gun.
Synthetic to synthetic should work just fine. If you replace wood with synthetic, you'll need to remove the metal spacer that is in the receiver.
Thanks,
Clark
Thanks brother helps me out a lot just was not sure as I see all of them listed as 870 most likely just because of the forearm part being the 870 is a pump but if the rear stock part will fit the 11-87 I will just keep the one that's on my gun on there and get the new 870 set to match my gun.
