Today is the last day of deer season here. I always go the last evening to close it out. I won't get my deer fix again until November so I have to scratch the itch one last time!
I killed a buck just before Thanksgiving and really don't want another deer but I'll be out there watching them, just to close out another season. Maybe a nice fat sow will show up and I'll add some pork to the freezer.
Does anyone else have a season closing tradition?
Not really but we're open until the 15th here. I'm going out to attempt to fill my last bow tag. Thinking all of those deer I let walk earlier in the season might get whacked tonight if they make another mistake!
Depends. I like to let the kids and wife have at it for as long as possible after a few are in the freezer. After that if we are short i will pick the gun up and bat cleanup. Once I have what I need for the year I quit. Try to hold of from killing the last one till the end of season. But if I hit my quota early I pack it in for the year. No point in shooting them just to shoot them. Bowhunting is more my speed anyways.
