Title: Rhonda Rowsey
Post by: Bowguy on December 29, 2016, 02:41:28 PM
I haven't been keeping up w the fights but this one interests me. So many people making predictions n so many people doubting her.
She's pretty bad a$$ if you ask me. I like her n all fighters get caught or just have a bad night.
Some mentally never seem the same after a loss n start this win/lose streak.
I'm betting on Rowsey hope this doesn't happen to her. What you all think?

I've not had a chance to keep up with it lately but I do know one thing for certain. She was a one trick pony for the most part. I'm not saying I'd be willing to step in the ring with her because she'd kill me in an instant. However, she pretty much relied on getting her opponent to the ground. When Holmes didn't allow that, Rhonda flipped her lid. She was completely out of her element and didn't know what to do. If it goes to the ground I'm all for Rhonda. If they stay on their feet, unless she's really worked on her standup game, she's got just as good a chance at losing this fight as she did with Holmes.

I think Rhonda will win! I have been in the martial arts for 34 years now and taught as well.  Rhonda has great boxing to go with her judo and her karate skills are improving as well. I think her layoff will help her mindset for sure.

The interesting thing bout mma imo is that it almost started out as a "who's skillset is more useful?" With most folks knowing the skills limited to their style. Seemed the ground game ruled for a while, than guys learned to defend being taken down better, so on n so on. The evolution of it all is interesting to watch n I'd bet Rowsey has worked some of her weaknesses.

I don't have tv but may go out n watch it. I'm still betting n hoping on her

She is hungry and sees her loss as an embarrassment. I don't see her letting this happen again and she has a great skill set to back it up (as does her opponent). I just think that her motivation will carry her on to victory......

Rhonda never got started last night. 48 seconds and she was out. When I saw her opponent training and pressing overhead what looked like 135lbs-- I was a little worried for Rhonda. Don't know if she will come back after this.

I was disappointed last night. Every other fight went the distance with a couple being really good fights! Get to the main event and Rhonda was done within a minute. She definitely showed she was not prepared for a stand up and strike fight, even though that was one of Nunes strengths. I think she will fight again, but I don't see her truly recovering from that loss. Great fighters work on their weaknesses, but only a fool plays to their opponents strengths. Just my $.02.
