Title: Is there a swap meet at NWTF convention or at a bar???
Post by: Happy hooker on December 08, 2016, 07:42:54 PM
Here in the Midwest during winter there are musky fishing expo s in places like chicago,Milwaukee, minneapolis,Ohio,Indiana and others, famous retailers and cool custom lure makers have booths with things for sale. These shows usually go from a Friday to Sunday.
However one of the funniest things is that on the Sat nite of each show somebody arranges a swap meet at a local bar or restaurant. I arrange the one in Minneapolis and we are on our 18th year,,everybody brings their rods, reels, hundreds of lures and anything else related to swap, sell. It is a HUGE turnout and it's also a social gathering for muskie guys to hang out and talk and the bar restaurant is happy to have us because we bring in so much business, they reserve a section with tables to lay stuff out on and the waitresses make a lot of tips,,it's just a win,win positive thing.
I'm wondering if anything like this is done at the NWTF convention in Nashville I realize there's a show with vendors but is there a swap meet somewhere???
If not it would be fun for everybody attending to bring their calls, camo, books, dvds anything turkey related, "firearm s and ammo of course wouldn't be allowed at bar" to sell swap hangout or maybe make some new hunting connections
Anything like this happen there,,or should it????

Sounds like a good idea to me. I love sitting around and talking turkey with fellow hunters. My buddy usually comes up and stays with me to go to the convention and he would be up for it too.
