I've heard of bearded hens but didn't think they had a rope hanging. This lady has been coming through my yard with a winter flock of 20 to 30 hens. She's the only one with a beard. I've killed gobblers with thinner beards than this.

I've seen several hens with beards but none that thick. My first fall kill was a hen with a sparse beard.
I shot one with a bow that had a 9.5" beard on her.
I have seen a couple but she is up there as one of the best
That's impressive.

That's cool, I love seeing bearded hens.

That is probably the nicest bearded hen I have seen photographed. A trophy for sure.

Funny. Had a 12 year old tell me the same thing the other day.

I had one come in spring before last that had at least an 8" beard.

That is a good beard. Bet she is giving some toms a case of "beard envy"

I would love to shoot one someday, but I'd want to do it in the fall

Those are some nice beards I killed 1 years ago but beard was thin and 7 inches
That is a nice beard. We have one on our lease that has been there for a few years. Her beard is about 7 inches long, but nowhere near as thick as this one.
