Killed my buck last week and even on the way home from that hunt I was thinking about spring turkeys.
I feel ya!:icon_thumright:
Amen brother! People think I've lost my mind when I say I'd rather turkey hunt than deer hunt.
Soky.....I'm like you buddy my mind never leaves the thoughts of turkey hunting and spring and my heart never losses it's fire and passion for one of the great blessings God has allowed me to enjoy! My passion was tested this past year with the lose of my dad and I missed most of the spring season this past year. But thank God it has fired back up greater than ever and I'm so ready to be sitting on a ridge top on a spring morning watching Gods creation coming back to life! I try to practice my calling year round and greatly enjoy it. I've already started watching my turkey hunting DVDs which is not going to help at all. A little over 4 months and I can't wait! God bless
Was deer hunting with a buddy of mine last Sunday. As it was breaking daylight I could hear the turkeys talking in the woods just ahead of us. That made my morning right there but I almost knew it was a matter of time before the birds showed up somewhere in the field. At about 8:00, 5 longbeards strolled by and then my morning was full. Tried to walk some of the property to push a deer to my partner and along the way I bumped into 2 additional gobblers. My mind was not on deer at the moment. Totally understand your thoughts man.
I was in my treestand bow hunting deer Tuesday evening. Had 3 Toms fly up to roost in a tree really close to me. Watched the closest one kind of wobble on a branch. I didn't give a hoot about those ugly stinkers. Went back to watching for deer.
Next Spring, my attitude will sure be different.
Gotta stay focused, boys!
Heard two gobbles and a bunch of tree talk the other morning from my climber. Forgot all about the deer for a while.

Right on Mike!!
No doubt in my mind, if I was told I could only hunt one thing each year...
Spring Gobblers every year!!
Went deer hunting this fall during archery season probably 4 times and basically I was turkey hunting the whole time. After I shot my PA fall Gobbler, I haven't even been out deer hunting since. My buddies tell me that I am nuts because I didn't even go out rifle hunting once. Over the years, I have lost basically all interest in deer hunting and live for the spring so I can chase the gobblers. Can't help it, just what I love to do.
Killed a nice 8 pt yesterday and the last couple weeks i've had 32 hen's in a group and 13 gobblers in another group together...bring on turkey season...great to see deer and turkeys feeding together....
