Clardh and I each bought a slate over slate in a white oak pot from Scott Hock. We decided on a tong oil finish. Scott kept us posted on the progress and a week or so ago, Scott said he shipped them. A few days later they showed up in my mailbox. I opened mine and, man, what a gorgeous call! Nice grain and the tong oil finish was just perfect. Kind of a darkish color from what I envisioned. Subtle and natural looking. Felt good in my hand... Solid...Good craftsmanship. THEN, I put a striker to it...WOW!!! Three birds on the sweet spot. One just under the next. Great high note. Nice break over. Good rasp and a "cry" in the middle. Couldn't be happier! Scott recommended a Brad Roberts persimmon striker (the light colored one) and man was he right! Couldn't be happier!
If you're looking for a nice call from a good guy, don't hesitate to call Scott. He goes by Scott Hock on here...You won't be sorry!
Glenn, thank you so much for the kinds words. It was also great doing business with you. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Thanks again, very much appreciated, Scott

Been playing this call and the more I use it, the more I like it! This baby is going to be killer in the Spring...
As a side, it has a good gobbler yelp if you experiment a little...
You made a good one Scott!
