Title: I know it's not just me
Post by: Bowguy on November 12, 2016, 07:54:04 PM
I agree w the right to free speech n protest. But the protesters, protesting the election are absolutely embarrassing. I mean they don't get what they want n many are going to extremes to throw temper tantrums.

The continue to outright lie, beat up old men, stop traffic, vandalize,  etc etc. it's even embarrassing to call them fellow Americans. Imo they aren't when going at things this way. They lost now suck it up the way we did when Obama won. Id venture to say more on here are republicans but as a democrats folks oughta be even more ashamed.
This is what happens when people feel entitled. The world isn't fair, you don't always get your way. (Parents need to teach this)

Guess the stress is too great for the brainiacs at these big time colleges. What kind of weak brain must you have to need exams rescheduled and cry ins? Never even heard of such baby nonsense.
This is a great forum n by no means am I trying to offend anyone on here. Just needed to vent.

I am with you brother. I will tell you what also bothers me and that is burning the American flag. That just pisses me off so bad. Myself and many others have fought and sacrificed so much with some paying the ultimate price and these damn protesting idiots have the nerve to burn it. All I can say is that I hope I don't see them doing it because I might end up getting myself in alot of trouble. If your angry fine but don't take it out on something that represents so much to those that fight for your rights.

Free and fair elections are the American way.  It separates us from dictatorships.
It's disturbing that some Americans refuse to accept the results of such a fundamental part of our country.  If not by open elections, how do they suggest we appoint/choose our leaders?

Give them all a 2016 Presidential Election Participation trophy and a lolly pop.  Reassure them that they are winners too because there are no losers, only winners!   Maybe then they would go home.

I know how accurate the polls are.   I'd like to see a poll of how many of these morons, I mean winners voted and how many can actually legally vote.

:z-twocents:  I'm a former Marine, served over 40 yrs ago, and I'ld like to say one thing. We like and support the 2nd Amendment, our right to keep and bear arms. And that's great, I support it too. But there's also the first Amendment, the right to Assembly and the right to free speech, just as important as the 2nd Amendment. When I served I took an oath to serve and defend the Constitution. All of the Constitution, not just the parts I liked. The other side, even if its the dark side, have a right to free speech. If we deny them that right we are just as bad as Russia or Communist China. And yes the Supreme Court said flag burning is free speech protected by the first Amendment. I was prepared to protect all of the Constitution with my life, the parts I liked and the parts I didn't. This is what makes America the greatest country in the world. We should talk about our differences. We may have thought that our country was nearing the end when Obama became President but lo and behold we have Trump, be thankful and celebrate our differences don't whine like they are, we won!

Semper Fi. I too am a former Marine (M1A1 Tank Commander) and agree that they have the right to free speech but what they don't have the right to do is destroy others property or drag people from their cars and beat them (this is the points that I think upset most of us), etc. As for the flag, I know that by law they have the right to burn it but I just don't think that I could just stand by and watch it without trying to stop it.

I guess if there is any consolation, the acts all occur in blue areas of the country.  Kinda like eating their own.

Thank you for your service.  I agree 100% they have the right to protest.  They have no right to destroy private property, harm people, close roads, and more.  I have to keep my mouth shut or something is wrong with me yet these people do disgusting things and are to be celebrated.  I don't get it.  Law and order needs to be put in place.

I thank all of you guys that served!! But, since when did the Supreme Court gain the right to supersede the constitution??? I was taught in civics class that I also had the right to fight...right up until my fist met the other guys nose!! Also, what happened to defamation of character ?? Far as I know the President is the Executive branch, he gives the order, Congress is the Legislative branch, they make the law and the Supreme Court is the Judicial branch, they uphold the law, not to be twisted around the way they want to. Good thing I'm not a Supreme Court judge, the jails would be full of these thugs protesting!!! I'd sent them straight to Sheriff Joe!! If they were out working for a living they wouldn't have time to protest!!! I'd also cut those checks off if caught out protesting!!!
