I had the funnest hunting trip I've ever had. ;D I'll try not to make this a novel. I scored Gobblers 2 consecutive mornings, and the third morning got to see my host Doug (GobblerD) put down a big ol Osceola.

We went out for breakfast with Doug, TS, and huntnma. Great meeting those guys.
Doug is maybe the nicest guy I've ever met, and busted butt to make sure I got into birds. We staid at his mothers beautiful house on a canal, and one day at his hunting camp. The man can flat out hunt with the best of them, and can mouth gobble without a call like none I've ever seen. 3 birds in 3 days is totally awesome.
Congrats Jay...............Glad to see you had a successful adventure :happy0064: :happy0064: :happy0064:

We had seen a large Gobbler driving around the lease, and snuck in to set up on him. I had sent a couple of Gobbler loungers to Doug before I went down there, and he is a new fan. Great product.

One thing I was surprised about was where these Florida boys take their trucks. In Iowa you'd be axil buried in mud attempting to drive thru what they do, but there it's all sand. We saw a 5' gator flyen off the road into the brush, and they saw a 10'er in the same area that day. They are a lot faster on land than I realized.

We went to a party out in the boonies Saturday night, ;D and I found out there is a level of Redneck that I had never been around before. Them boys do like their guns, and they must buy ammo by the truck load. Sounded like a war out there. Up here we like our ribs KC style, but there they don't use BBQ sauce or you get some yellow vinegar tasting stuff they call BBQ sauce. UCK. Had a lot of fun, but I'm way too old to handle drinking whisky out of a bottle. Doug and me paced ourselves well, and had no trouble getting up at 4am the next morning at camp. What was really cool is when they asked Doug if he was going to get a Turkey the next morning, and he told them how it was going to go. He proceeded to do a whole morning set up with him doing the Owl hoots, Turkeys Gobbling on Roost, him Hen calling, flydown, birds gobbling coming in, and then as they came in one of the guys yelled bam. It was amazing, all done with just his mouth. We were all spellbound. The guy is amazing.
Awesome jay!!!! Sounds like a great trip.

Heck yea Jay!! Awesome trip!!! Congrats buddy! :you_rock:
I'll tell you the hospitality by Doug and his mom was the finest I've ever come across. She had Dinner for us when we came in after hunting, and living by herself she loves hunting season when people are staying over. Doug had done a lot of scouting prior to me getting there to make sure I got my first Osceola. He did an excellent job, because we had action no matter where we went, especially in the mornings. Afternoons were tougher. What made it perfect was Doug getting his first Osceola this year after trying to get birds for others. After I hunted mornings getting a bird, he hunted the afternoons. When I finished Saturday morning, that left him Sunday morning to get a Tom, which he did. He's put down 2 big Rios this year, and a big Osceola, Merriams in Nebraska next, and then Easterns in Illinois is the plan. Hope he gets another slam. That's the great thing about these Boards, when you meet people that become friends for life.
Sounds like a heck of a good time Jay. Congrats on your birds and a big "you da man" to your fine host. :you_rock:
Congrats Jay !!!!!!!!! :you_rock: :z-guntootsmiley: :you_rock:
