I've always been a hevi shot guy but we were messing with our guns the other day and a buddy of mine wanted me to try a 3.5" longbeard #5. Clean barrel, benelli sbe 1 26" barrel, lengthened forcing cone, with a rhino .660 shot 208 in a 10" circle at a lasered 40.5 yards. It blew my mind. What do y'all think? I may just hafta hunt it. 208 number 5s I would imagine would absolutely stroke a gobbler!
That'll kill birds all day long.
Indeed.
All The Way!
Went out with a buddy Saturday. He just bought a 12 guage Affinity, 3" longbeard 6s, and the Carlsons longbeard choke (.660). Didn't count pellets, but that pattern was ENTIRELY too tight for my liking.
They can be a bit tight for sure. Best make sure you've got adjustable sights or a scope of some sort. Personally though, I like them. Switched to TSS but I like them.
That'll smash his noggin
That's a killing pattern for sure!
Hard to beat for the $; even though I've also gone the tss route.
25 years ago we could have only dreamed of such a good shooting turkey guns
