Title: 835 and Kick's choke
Post by: agent eight seven O on June 09, 2016, 03:54:20 PM
I have been wanting to try a Kick's Gobblin' Thunder in my 835 with 3" Super X #5 ammo. What size would be the best? Oh yeah, 24 inch barrel. Thanks.

.675
But
If you want a real turkey stomper get you a JEBS .650-.660 and some Longbeard #5s...

I shoot a kicks .680 in my 24" bbl 935 and its a great choke. Its not a big numbers choke from what I have seen, but it literally shoots every Turkey load well I've tried in mine.Nice even hunting patterns,Consistent poa\poi with em all. I've killed gobblers with magblends, long beard#4, long beard #5s , WinHV #5s, and Federal HW #7s through my kicks choke. Any Kicks GT .670-685 will do a good job with lead #5s, I'd probably go with the .675 or .680. You'll have a turkey stomper if you put winchester longbeards through any turkey choke in your 835. I'm not sold on the Jebs supertight chokes for the 835s, I know they're proven in other guns but in my mind(and anyone who has made chokes for the 835), those are just too tight of constrictions for the 10 ga bore.

I felt the same as you until I tried it!!
Truly unbelievable!!! I even told the JEBS guys a choke tight wouldn't work, so they sent me 4 to try. I have to admit I picked the one they recommended .650... The Winchester shot loc technology is why it works.... Try one, if you dont like it they will give you a full refund!!!
