Well it has been quite a season this year. It started off well with a nice Osceola followed up by a beautiful Rio Grande. Then everything changed. I was involved in a shootout with a bad guy we were trying to arrest for several armed robberies. I was hit several times but nothing critical. Bad guy didnt make it but I figured my season was over. As I healed up, I decided that I needed to try to finish out my slam. After all the hardest bird to get was the Osceola which I was lucky enough to take earlier in the season. I hobbled out to one of my spots where I wouldnt have to walk very far and put all my gear on my deer cart. It all worked out as I took a really nice Eastern scoring over 70. I continued to heal and had to wait until the last weekend to try and head to north central Nebraska. Made it up there and it started to rain. Rain in the area I was hunting is a death sentence because you cant drive at all if it gets too wet. Lucky for me the rain stopped and the sun came out and dried things up just enough. Made it in there and set up. The Toms were all grouped back up already and there were no hens. I managed to coax one nice gobbler to within 22yds and made a perfect shot. I couldnt believe that I was able to finish my slam after almost losing my life. It was truly a blessing. Special thanks to Wendell Rye from Lights Out Custom Calls for my anodized aluminum. That call works wherever I go.

You are truly blessed! And I'm not talking about turkeys.
Congratulations on the Archery slam and I am glad you found your way over to Elite. I have been a dealer for them since since 2006 when most didn't even know who they were, it's amazing the growth the company has experienced.
What broadhead did you use this year for turkeys?
Glad there is another criminal off the streets and good to read that your all right my friend.
