Title: 22 Inch Inv.+ BPS
Post by: hawk on May 30, 2016, 08:30:29 PM
I'm getting a 22" Inv+ barrel(3") for my BPS. I would like to hear from anyone who shoots this set up using LB #6 as to best chokes you've found. I also have some Heavy 13 #7's.

It's always good to remember that numbers are not as important as the quality of the pattern, especially with short barrelled guns. From my experience, you should be able to get some high-quality patterns with both of those shells.

I can't recall any of my readers who are using the 22" barrel but I have a number of readers who shoot 24" I+ barrels and they are doing quite well with the JEB's turkey chokes. The SSX also does very well through Invector+ bores with the Hevi-13s in either #6 or #7 shot.

You should have a handy turkey gun with that 22" barrel.

Thanks,
Clark

The I+ factory tubes are good enough that you'd probably be fine with one of those while shooting the long beards. My gun threw some really great patterns with hevi 6's and federal HW 7's using a pure gold choke that I believe was either a .665 or .675 constriction. Sold it to a forum member to help him get his sx2 straightened out. He seemed happy with it so far based on what he's told me. I'll miss that choke but I don't use that gun for turkeys anymore.
