Title: Odd color phase hen
Post by: turkeyfeathers on May 25, 2016, 09:23:41 AM
First off excuse my ignorance as I do remember seeing a thread awhile back on odd colored birds but couldn't locate it in a search.
Yesterday on the way home from hunting I was eyeballing fields looking for strutters. I notice a tom and a hen in a field. This hen stuck out like a sore thumb in the tilled field. She was cream colored. I mean real light tan. I tried to get pics thru my binocs with Iphone but that ain't easy. Curious of how rare this coloring is. Doubtful I'll ever see another one.

Took a picture of this one a couple years ago on some private land I was hunting. Not sure how common they are but saw her a few times. (http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb445/codyvid/eeb9f3c7.jpg) (http://s1206.photobucket.com/user/codyvid/media/eeb9f3c7.jpg.html)
