Hunted on AEDC WMA this weekend and managed to find a bird that wanted to ride in my truck. Several birds gobbling in the area as well as quite a few hens. Managed to get set up about 150 yards from the roost and put out three decoys. About 7 a.m. one of the long beards came in close enough to see the decoys. He started yelping and walked in to about 35 yards and hung up watching the non-moving decoys. That was close enough for the Hevi-13 #6 shot in the old white hull. At the shot he started flopping and 3 jakes appeared from somewhere and flogged him. There were still 3-4 gobblers gobbling so I let them have their fun and wander off unalarmed before I got up and gathered my gear. I'll be back there next weekend to see if there is another one that likes my Avalanche enough to take a ride.
