My girlfriend told me last night that Friday night here in Monroe, New York--she was driving down rural Lakes Road and saw 4-5 wild turkeys on the ground in front of the firehouse!! This full moon is SUPER BRIGHT and I figure that must be the reason. I told her that what she saw is rare and I have never seen it. My best friend lives in Greenwood Lake and he saw turkeys on the ground also on that same stretch- but nearer to 11pm about a week ago. Any thoughts here?
I had one fly out of a tree at 3:40 pm yesterday. It was just inside the woods behind my house. Teenagers? Staying up all night and sleeping all day? :TooFunny:
I was riding with a guy years ago and we hit a hen turkey at 3:30 in the morning. Though we had hit an owl since it glided across the road in to the truck grill but upon closer inspection it was a hen.

If turkeys start moving at night I am DONE TURKEY HUNTING we won't have a chance!
The pressure has made them go nocturnal :newmascot:
I've got video of a hen in NE walking down the road at 5:17a.m. Was cloudy and black dark. Lucky for her they don't have near the predators I've seen in KS or that we have here in AR or she'd been breakfast!
