Title: Learning the mouth call question

 :TrainWreck1: hello, I'm wanting to really learn how to use a mouth call any suggestions on which call/calls to start with? Thanks!

If you're hoping to use them this year n you have no idea how it's gonna be almost impossible. Anything w 2 or 3 reeds n soft reeds will be easy to learn on. Hooks makes some. Gotta fit your mouth properly n hooks are made to fit inside your teeth, if you want full size tape you gotta request that on their order form.

I still am having trouble getting under my skin! Gonna stick to a slate call!

This is why many guys never get mouth calls. It takes time often years to be good. Use your pots but practice for the next year or so, on the way to work n such,  no joke btw, you'll get it in time. Don't give up, it's certainly not a mandatory call but it can be valuable to know at times

I was fortunate to learn when I was young and still capable of learning. That being said I still keep one in the truck and practice when driving. It one of those things that just takes practice.

I agree, I still practice a lot with the diaphragm and duck calls during my commute.  Keeps from driving my wife crazy by practicing in the house.

I practice on a mouth call almost everyday...I just can't stop.  My three year old was strutting through the house yesterday...cadence was good..tone was a but high
