Title: Rain Stopped & Bird Flopped
Post by: tomstopper on May 03, 2016, 10:02:15 PM
Well finally after being soaked for the last couple days, it decided to stop raining here in NY. Went out this morning at 4:45am and as I was finishing my coffee and getting my vest on, I heard this guy start sounding off. He was roosted on the other side of a pipeline that I cant hunt. I set up about 50 yards on the down hill side where I had permission to hunt and about 100 yards from his roost (I literally had the neighbors posted sign 50 yards in front of me). He flew down in the pipeline just after day break and wouldn't leave it. Finally at around 8:23am and after some serious cutting and yelping, he came off the pipeline and down the ridge. As soon as he got to about 15 yards on my side of the posted sign the 870 barked and he flopped. 10 3/4in beard, 3/4 & 5/8in spurs, and 19.93lbs. Cant wait to get back out there at the end of the week.
