I was fortunate to arrive in my Kansas motel room after a morning hunt just in time to see a classifieds add for an all walnut Albert Paul call. Well I got the call and put it to use for the first time today, the first day of my Michigan hunt. Light misty rain this morning kept me out of the woods until 10am. While moving between my first and second setup a bird gobbled on his own, maybe 150 yards away. A big oak downfall provided a perfect backdrop to hide in. One series of yelps and a couple clucks on the Paul call and he was on his way. He gobbled and strutted his way down an old logging road until I touched off the load of Hevi 7's at 30 yards. 19.5 lbs, 10" beard and both spurs were 1-1/8". If my daughter can't hunt until next week I'm on my way back to fill a Missouri tag.
Very nice
Congrats. He will be the next box call I buy.
