Title: Jake,hens , or none.
Post by: Walton91 on May 01, 2016, 09:14:49 PM
Hey guys, I got to days to hunt this week. Both days there is a chance of rain here in va. I've got a couple questions for you all.

I'm hunting in a small meadow near a known roost site it's getting towards the end of season here with two weeks left. I'm just wondering if I should still be putting my jake decoy out with the hen? Or just put a couple hens out? Or no decoys at all?

I haven't had any luck yet this season. I've called in a couple hens. Just trying to get the odds in my favor and bust a gobbler.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Are you getting any response from any toms from calling and what is their reaction?  Are the hens leaving the toms early morning to nest or are the toms hanging out with hens all day?  You may want to try a variety of calls and decoys and see how they react?
