Title: Pumped Up!
Post by: Struttin Spurs on April 03, 2011, 08:03:48 PM
I went scouting in my "honey hole" in central Missouri. It has been an awesome spot for me the last few seasons but last year was a little below average due to the poor hatches we have been having. This year it seems to be back up to par! I went out at daylight and had 7-8 different gobblers gobbling at me from the edge of the property. I never even walked to the other side to see how many were gobbling over on there because I didnt want to bump any birds. Needless to say I am excited and ready to get this thing started!

Side note...... My spots in Arkansas are not as promising. I have three different farms to hunt and have yet to hear a gobble. Arkansas is a tough state though. There bird numbers seem to be WAY down the last couple years. Anyone got any insight on this? Maybe the really bad winters/ ice storms over the past few years combined with poor hatches I guess.
