Title: swivel stud instalation
Post by: tnanh on April 18, 2016, 03:53:08 PM
can someone please tell me what size drill bit and how deep to drill the butt stock on an 870 youth 20 gauge for installing a swivel stud. It is a wood stock. Thanks.

I use a 11/64" drill bit for the screw hole and 3/8" to counter sink. You can't drill the main hole to deep. And counter sink roughly 3/16" to allow for the roundness of the stock. Have done several installs this way with no issues.
Might try practicing on a piece of scrap wood first.
