Title: Any Zone 2 Kansas Reports?
Post by: davisd9 on April 15, 2016, 04:41:18 PM
We are leaving Thursday to head out to Kansas. Hunting Saturday-Tuesday.  Anyone in this area or been to it? Hunting around Ellis. Weather is looking good. Thanks for any info.

Bump. Just curious how the birds are responding and what they are doing.

I haven't hunted near that area but hunted my farm in SC Kansas  this week...population is down.  Its been very windy for days and really dry....wheat is shorter than normal which helps hunting.

Rain began last night and Ellis may have gotten s good amount. More rain predicted through the week.

I drove from Wichita to Hoisington on Friday to see a high school baseball game and saw zero birds in fields...was very windy and assume they are staying in trees along creeks.

Hunted there last weekend and this weekend.  Very dry and lots of land being burned.  Rain is coming though this week.

Birds have been very responsive, and I found lone gobblers late in the day this week.  They played well and I'm giving a pair of them a ride home to MD.

Headed that way May 15.  I have never been this early.  It is probably good right now, just hunting other places.  Buddy of mine lets us hunt 30,000 acres.  We usually do pretty good. :boon:
