Title: Indian creek .665 and LB 3" 1 7/8 6'S ?
Post by: buckeyejim on April 09, 2016, 12:08:29 PM
Just bought an 870 28" barrel with this choke and ordered these shells from mackspw. Does anyone shoot this combo or similar ? If so how does it shoot ? Probably should have asked before ordering the shells ! Its a 3" chambered express.

I'm patterning well using the same shell in my SX2 with a patternmaster. Good choice and good luck.

I know what you mean bugman. Will have to shoot and see myself. I guess if the choke doesnt do well in this barrel I could always sell the choke and get another sumtoy. They seem to be doing well with the 870's and longbeards. Not in a hurry anyway still have my 20 w/sumtoy sitting here looking at me wanting to go. Just getting a backup together.

It should do fine. I tried the same choke and shell in a 26" 870 the other day. The only problem is if you don't have adjustable sights,  they shoot real tight and you may have a problem with point of impact. Nearly every Remington I have owned shoots low and right.
