Title: Hevi shot triple beards
Post by: ohiostrutter on April 07, 2016, 06:32:46 PM
Has anyone put up good patterns with these? Seem pretty cheap was wondering if they are worth buying a box?

Haven't tried any but I have been tempted to. I just don't like the #7 lead in there. Seems to me like it's just there for a pattern filler to put more holes in paper.

Define good pattern. Will they kill at 40? Yes.

I have shot them on a limited basis and they delivered dense and even patterns. They averaged 147 hits in 10" at 40 yards with no 2" or larger gaps, through the SSX choke in a Benelli SBEII with a 24" barrel. It's been too windy here to do any other shooting in the last several weeks.

Thanks,
Clark

Lead 7's are a deal-breaker for me...

Can you give me any advice on the SSX choke? I just got one for my SBE2 .

Yes, I just replied to your question.

Best of luck this spring.

Far as I'm concerned it's a marketing gimmick, save your money and stick with the Longbeards.

I've posted pictures in the lead shooters section. They did not shoot well in my gun at 40. 20 was great, but it opened up way too much for my liking at 40. I'm shooting a winchester sxp 12 gauge. I was shooting the triple beard 3.5's.  :TrainWreck1:
