Title: Project: NEF Pardner SBI
Post by: lowoctane on April 07, 2016, 04:07:32 PM
Bought this and had a bit of work done to it 12 or so years ago. My brother in law decided that he wanted it and then quit hunting. Last night I called and asked if he'd sell it back to me. He said no, but I'll give it to you.  :toothy9:  WOW!!! So today I went and got re-aquinted. This is the 12ga 3.5" gun. Had the barrel shortend and set up for Rem-Chokes, the forcing cone lengthened and rifle sights installed. I found a fibre optic rear sight and made one for the front. I massaged the trigger a bit and refinished the furniture. As I recall, it shot pretty good with the loads available at the time, but I am very excited to see what some of these new loads will do in lead! So next week I'm gonna hit the pattern board. Who knows? Might just be carrying the old girl into the turkey woods on the 18th of this month!!!   :fud:

Who did the work on your gun? I have a 20 gauge I'm going to have done after turkey season. Yours looks really good and I'm sure you will get good patterns.

Those guns went for $100-$125 when new, and now that they arent making them have seen them for as much as $300. I have the 10ga & a 20ga. Great guns, good luck.  I`ll add a 12 ga when & if the price is right. Mike

:morning:  Thanks for yer kind words. "JR" in St. Louis did the machine work, but he's no longer with us. I recommend you call and speak with William at SumToy or the gentleman that Clark recommends here on OG. If you read my original post you'd see that I thought it was set up for remchokes. Well, found out yesterday that it isn't. Went to pattern it and the only tube I have that fits it is the 680 that's in it! I can't call JR and ask him either! So my patterning yesterday was with I tube only...but, I did come back with some good numbers, so look for my posts. Need to have it set up for remchokes cause that's what I have a lot of.   :camohat:

Posted some pics in the 12ga pattern area. Remember that this is the only tube I have for this gun until I get her re-reamed.
