Title: POI lead vs all HTL
Post by: Spurs on April 07, 2016, 12:05:13 PM
Anyone noticing a big difference with this.  I am getting about a 10-12" drop on the Hevi13 #6 and #7 vs Longbeard #6.  All 3" shells.

I have buddies who's POI change depending the shell, but not by that much. Luckliy, my guns POI is the same with my Hevi 7s and LB 6's.

I would expect the POI to be different between lead and HTL just because of the weight difference and the effect of gravity on the shot once it leaves the barrel.  Not sure about 10-12" though.  How fast are the shells between the lead and HTL?  That might be your answer.

I'm 110 Fps difference...lead is faster.  This instance is the LB#6 and Hevi#7.

It is definitely like a science project. My Xtrema 2 that is sighted in with Hevi 13 3.5 7's shoots to the right with Hevi 13 3" and 3.5" 6's. Must be a different wad or some sort of barrel harmonics.

3" hevi 7's, 3" Win HV #6's and 3" LB 6's are same/same from my 21" 870.

3" HW 7's and 3" H13 6's are high/low from my 21" 870 20 gauge.
