My daughter and I made a quick 1,700 mile round trip to Sonora, Texas to hunt Rio's. The birds were unusually quiet but we were able to make it work. She hammered this bird at 21 yards with her youth 20. 10 1/4" beard and 1 1/8" Spurs. She only lacks an Eastern to complete her Royal Slam. Pretty good for a 14 year old!

Congrats to your daughter on the Rio! I hunt Sonora and was out at the ranch Sat-Tues. I agree that for this time of year the birds were unusually quiet. Glad you got it done!
